Homecoming: Utah State vs. Weber

Yay!! It is finally football season and time to watch the Aggies play at home. Our first home game was our homecoming. This had Brian's new boss in a fit and so he didn't get to enjoy too much of everything with the rest of us, but he did have a fun time when he was able to slip in.
We began the morning early. One thing I have always wanted to do is run in a race. I want to do at least one 5K, a 10K, and then a half Marathon. Although I have had this goal for a long time I had never ran in any race or much further then 2 miles. So Brian agreed to help me meet my goal and we signed up for the 5K they do every homecoming. I walked a few times but realized it was because I was frustrated with my headphones falling out which would then make me feel frustrated about running and I would walk. But I did a great job running and am proud of my 35 minute time. We are thinking of signing up for a Halloween 5K and I hope to do a little better on the walking part.

We stayed long enough to win one prize, then headed home, tidied up some, got ready and headed to the Homecoming Parade. This was my first time ever going to one of these parades, so it was fun that Jan loves parades enough to get us to go to one.
After the parade we relaxed some at my house while Brian went to work with the Men's Basketball team and showing a video to some hopefully future players. This took longer then we thought it would and ended up walking to campus to get some new gear for the Hafer family. Once they got there gear we headed to Beehive Grill for some lunch. Brian was able to join us, but he had to be quick and left before we were even halfway done.
When lunch was over we headed back to my place to relax and get everything ready for the game. Once we felt ready we went to the tailgate and gave Brian's other family their tickets so they could go find some seats. We loved the Twinkies, hot dogs, creamies, and water we got at the tailgate. Plus it was fun to see Spencer try his hand at throwing a football with Kaden strapped to his front.
Then it was game time. I loved the atmosphere in the stadium this year. The fans were loud and ready to be there. The game ended up being a sell out. It was packed......until after the first half when it decided to start pouring rain. This is when we left too, but we had a great time and knew the Aggies were going to win since it was 49-0 with only one first down for Weber. Not a day to be a Wildcats fan, sadly.

First kickoff at home of the season

Slept through his first football game. The next one they come to we will get a picture with Big Blue for sure.
When all was said and done it was a great kickoff to my birthday. Then I spent the day of my birthday relaxing with Brian which we don't get to do very often. It was the perfect day/weekend.

Peach Days

I am feeling like time is slipping by way too fast and I can't catch up. Then I feel unorganized and like things are a big mess and I can't stay on top of everything. I feel like a lot of this is stemming from having so much going on right now that I can't even keep my classroom desk organized which is so unlike me. I have plans to clean it up in the next couple days and hopefully get it all organized so I will feel like I am in charge of everything again.

However, I have been having lots of fun the past couple of weekends. We went to Peach Days on September 7th. We were able to watch the parade, enjoy the booths, and see lots of family. It was a great weekend with fun activities all around. The only problem with weekends like this......they go by so FAST!! I feel like I never have time to fully enjoy every moment.Oh well, at least I know we had fun.

Chillin at the parade (Do you see Santa behind Brian? He even gave all the kids candy canes)

My camera was being goofy.

Best part of the parade, Malt o Meal Cereal packs

This little monster was so cute! He was really doing a great job at being terrifying too.
Peach Days always falls in the perfect spot to do a quick family birthday party for Savennah and me.This year her cake was a La-La Loopsy

Birthday girls. We are only 3 days apart.

This little stinker didn't want to smile

She got some fun gifts but most of them were books or something else useful. She was a little disappoint to not get very many toys. Luckily her real birthday gave her lots of toys.

Labor Day Weekend

Before school started up and we got Brian's schedule figured out, we had HIGH hopes for a good quick getaway on Labor Day weekend. We were excited and looking up ideas...........then reality hit! Brian had a week long orientation that was over 40 hours which interfered with one of his Human Resource classes. So they decided to reschedule........and lo and behold it was scheduled for Friday night from 6-10pm. Poor guy! He had to be in orientation all day and then go through a 4 hour night class. It wasn't the best moment for us when we learned all of the information. Luckily we never booked anything and changed our plans to spending Saturday down in Salt Lake with Jan and Spencer.
We headed down kinda early and got to hang out all day. We enjoyed a lunch of never ending pasta at Olive Garden, camera shopped at Best Buy, got Spencer a new game, Jan got a new shirt, and we relaxed the rest of the night just enjoying each others company. Sunday was Kaden's baby blessing. We got up early made some yummy breakfast casseroles, got ready, and enjoyed time with family after the blessing.
We then headed to my parents house, relaxed some with them before going to visit Brian's aunt, cousins, and grandpa. It was great to catch up with them and see how things were going for them in Arizona. It is a good thing we love our families so much since we spent the whole weekend with them.
Brian made a good attempt at mimicking Kaden

I wanted a cute picture of us and this is what Brian did. Seriously he was in the most random sarcastic mood, it made for some great laughs.
Got a good one the next time

Waiting for everyone to get to the house after the baby blessing and playing some tether ball

We all ate but not Kaylee, she was too excited to have some babies to love on. She put little J right to sleep

Us with the star of the day Kaden
Then we took the Poppletons back to their house and decided to come back and stay the night for old time sake. They made us some delicious hobo dinners and we got to play some games while relaxing. We got up early the next morning to go and enjoy some Founder's day breakfast and wouldn't you know it.....it was pouring on us off and on. Good thing the breakfast is worth it.

Yummy breakfast in the rain

Best picture I could get during the worse part. It poured super hard for a good 20 minutes or more. It was pretty crazy as it got harder and harder then lightened up and got harder again. We felt bad for the 10K runners who were in this crazy storm.
After breakfast we left since the parade was uncertain and might be starting late due to the weather. We got ready for the day and then Brian headed up to Soccer. I did a few things at home that needed to be done then went up just as the game started. It was a great game and was great weather. Besides getting scared for a moment when a dog unexpectedly jumped at a kid and bite him, it was a great day with a win for the Aggies!!
After the game we then headed to the Blue Bird to use a gift card I had been given about 6 months ago. We got dinner, which was interesting, and then used the rest of the gift card to get some chocolates to enjoy later. It was a great way to end our 3 day weekend! Now we are ready to enjoy Peach Days and some football games!!!
