Sports all around

Sports, Sports, and more sports made it so it was a weekend from heaven for Brian. Only one part made it not so great.

Our weekend began bright and early at 12:01 AM on Friday morning with the VERY first showing of Cars 2. Brian has been planning on this since the first preview we saw (like a year ago).

The movie is great. I was exhausted the next day due to having to work early but the movie was worth going to see and made it worth begin tired. Everyone should definitely see this one (we are in debate a little on if it is better than the first one or just so different it can't even compete).

Friday had work involved with it for me but the moment I got off, Brian and I packed up and headed out of Logan for the weekend. We stopped at my parent's house to drop off all our stuff then continued down to Salt Lake. Arena Football a.k.a the BLAZE was where we were headed. Brian enjoyed the game so much the first time we made the extra trip to the second to last home game. It was a close game and we ended up wining by one point due to a blocked extra point. I love close games so it was perfect. We also got lower bowl seats when we thought we would be given the regular general admission that is suppose to come with our pass. However we totally weren't complaining. Especially since it was Mascot night and we got to see all of them closer, including Big Blue!
Brian loves to chew on straws, like this one from our snow cone.

After the game finished we headed over to visit with Jan and Spencer. We sure miss having a couple in Logan to hang out with but we are still hanging out whenever we get a chance. They were planning on coming to the game but had a family thing come up so couldn't make it.

We finally got back to my parents house around one in the morning and I was way tired. Two nights of little sleep caught up to me and I crashed hard. However it wasn't a day that I could sleep in. My mom has been asking my dad to move the clothes line in the yard so that she could make a play area for the grandkids. Since it was my dad's birthday and he hasn't been feeling the best we decided to help him out and get the lines moved. I totally didn't take a before or after shot but I got the middle when we realized that we had taken on a job that was too much and ended up having a backhoe come help us out.

What we thought only had cement at the bottom had a whole extra two feet of pole after it.

My niece enjoying the time outside with us in her own way.

By the time we got that done Brian and I had been outside for about eight hours. We had moved a couple swings, created a rock path, dug two very deep holes, attacked a rose bush, and moved two crazy clothes line pipes. But we weren't done for the day!! We ran a few errands really fast, got all cleaned up, ate a quick delicious dinner, and headed to Ogden for the Raptors game with my cousin Cate. Baseball!! We had a lot of fun and even got free cracker jacks which made to seventh inning stretch singing of the song, "Take me out to the Ball game" even funnier.

After the game we went back to my parents house to relax and sleep. We got up the next morning, packed everything up and headed back to Logan. We went over to some friends' house to take some pictures of the new little girl. She was soooo cute and was pretty easy going about the pictures for the first little bit, but when she was done we sure knew she was done.

All in all, we had a great weekend. Which is great since it was one of the last ones we get to enjoy for awhile since Brian works again on the weekends. At least for the next three or so weeks he does.

Pass of All Passes Fun begins

Months ago Brian and I brought a groupon for a Pass of All Passes. This pass allowed us to go to selected REAL games, all of the Blaze games, some races at Rocky Mountain Race Way, and then a season pass for the Seven Peaks Water Park. Although we got a great deal all of the events take place in Salt Lake and when Brian works we are unable to go.....so we missed a few things right after we got it. However, this past weekend we finally were in Salt Lake for my uncle's wedding (I took the pictures. I will post some soon.) and as luck would have it for us....there was a BLAZE game. We were really excited to be able to use our passes and finally get a chance to hang out with Jan and Spencer again since our big road trip.

The game was a lot of fun at first but became a blowout at the end so I got bored towards the end. I am definitely more of a close game type of girl. We had a lot of fun though and got some great ice cream at Ben and Jerry's afterwards. Now we are trying to decide if we should go to the game that is tomorrow night.......we are thinking yes since Brian doesn't work again and my dad's birthday is Saturday so we could stay down and visit with them (plus maybe get some laundry done....I hate doing it at laundry mats.)

Just in case......

we decide to go private at a quick moment, I would like to be prepared. If you read this blog and would like to continue to if we were to go private will you please leave your email address. I had our blog private for about a week reviewing some things. Brian and I decided to open it up again for now but with some things that are going one right now we might have to go private very suddenly. I will try to make it so this blog becomes a link blog but it could take awhile. So your best bet is to just provide your email now so you don't miss out!!!

Helping out the Fam

We have been having some interesting times lately as we have been helping out our families and enjoying some time with them.
This past Friday we went to see our niece's dance show. She did so good with all three of her dances. She was having a lot of fun and it was fun watching her grow some. We then went out with everyone that came to get some ice cream to celebrate her success.
We have also been spending a lot of time with my sister and nieces. They have come over the past week several times to go either shopping and needing an extra hand with the two little ones or just someplace to hang out for a little bit while waiting for an appointment they have. It's been fun hanging out with the girls and just enjoying the giggles and smiles.
Brian also went and helped my parents bring in a load of hay and rearrange the yard these past weeks. He helped them redo the dog pen yesterday. It is now only a fourth of the size it was which is still way big compared to a lot of dog pens. Now I guess the next thing they will want his help with is to till the old dirt, lay down a tarp, add gravel, move the clothes line, and haul up a new play thing for the grandkids and fix it up......not TOO much huh? ;) It will be a busy summer for us with us going down there on our slower days like Tuesdays. We originally went down yesterday for Father's day and took Brian's dad golfing and out to lunch...who knew we would help with so much and do a Father's /Mother's day project for my family. I helped watch the girls (since Daren and Jen were there too) and move some smaller wood pieces into the truck for my mom.
Now if only I would remember to pull out my camera to document these times. But my mind and Brian's have been preoccupied since a meeting we had last week. I will do better from here on out.

Memorial Day Catchup

So this year Memorial Day was pretty crazy in terms of weather which made it hard to have our normal family outing. We still got together with Brian's family at the cemetery and all froze while waiting for everyone to show up. Afterwards we normally go to the park and have a picnic lunch......however after freezing just standing there we weren't going to go and sit in the park. So we went to a restaurant instead. Brian and I had finally found a car worth test driving after looking for months, so we headed to do a test drive while everyone else waited for a table at Chuck-A-Rama. When we finished driving the car we knew it was the second car we needed with our two internships so we got our check to the guy and had him wait till Tuesday for us to get the money to him. Then we went and ate a quick meal with the rest of the family. After eating, it was asked if we wanted to go bowling. Brian's family loves to get together but this is the first time we ever did another activity besides just going out to eat.We loved it and had so much fun. Brian hadn't been bowling with his family for about 7 or 8 years I think we figured out. It was a fun competition and we enjoyed every minute of it. After finishing bowling Brian and I headed up to Bear Lake to spend some time with my parents. They had rented a condo for a couple nights and invited us up to come relax with them. It was a perfect way to end our three day weekend. Plus we got to take my parents out for their anniversary. I love hanging out with family and getting to build even better relationships then we already had.

These are the only pictures I got. I was trying to stay warm at the cemetery and didn't pull it out......but I don't really have an excuse for not using it at Bear Lake. :( I am always sad when I look back and realized the missed opportunities like that.

Visits

Before we left for our trip we had some fun visits with our families that came up to visit us from Arizona.

My sister and her two daughters flew in for my sister's wedding. We hung out with them quite a bit before we left and then took them back to the airport where I was able to finally get a snap of my niece's great wink.

This was also our first time meeting this little girl and she is a doll. She will pull the funniest faces when you talk to her. You will either get the biggest smile or the saddest pouty face.

They are going to be coming up for the summer this week. So hopefully I will get the chance to catch these great faces of hers.

Also they day we left we headed down to Brian's Grandpa's house to visit with his aunt, cousin, cousin's daughter, and the daughter's little boy.

We had some great smiles from him when we first got there and then got the clown act on camera before getting some cute smiles again. This little guy is just a week younger than the little girl above. He is much bigger though.

We didn't get pictures of anyone else because we were too busy visiting with them and holding this little guy but it was great to see all of you and even meet some of you for the first time. We can't wait to have you come up and visit again....or maybe we will make a trip down there to see you.
