Eagle Lake Mini-Golf

We have been back in Utah and Logan for almost a month now. It feels like we have been running around like crazy ever since we hit Logan. Luckily, we have caught everything up that we felt behind on too. Since we have been home Brian has worked over 40 hours a week at the office, helped put together everything for the Cache County Fair, organized and ran Family Fun Day, got Soccer organized and handed off to another intern, put on a Volleyball clinic, got Volleyball things ready, registered for school, and started a week long orientation that is around 60 hours (which is this week and makes it so we haven't really seen each other :( ). I have unpacked everything from Colorado, re-organized the house, cleaned the house, got my classroom ready, had school meetings for Kindergarten and being a first year teacher in my new district, did about 40 assessments on my Kindergarteners, started back at BATC, and started my first days with the Kindergarteners in my room. Overall we have had very little time to even really relax.
However, we did get to have some fun last night. We had a mini golf game planned for when we got back as a part of our father's day gift to Brian's dad. Due to timing and different events happening it got moved to this week. Turns out it was a fun break to have this week. It was a new course for all of us and seemed fairly simple when we first looked at......but looks were a little deceiving. We all had fun and laughed off our run around the hole shots that we all had at one time or another. Plus we got to see some great talent in Spencer since he golfed with Kaden in front of him the whole night.

Brian got his ball in the water and decided to play it where it was. He didn't get his 3 shots like he had hoped but we had fun watching him hit it out.

Brian got two hole in ones

Although we had fun Brian and I both like the mini golf in Providence more then this course. Maybe we just know that course better. After the scores were tallied up Spencer got 1st (even with his handicap of Kaden), then it was Dean, Brian, Jan, Lori, and me (we randomly discovered one club was broken after we started and I played the game with it).
Definitely a fun night and was a needed break for us. We can't wait for this weekend to come so we can go and do a few more fun things before we get even busier with every sport team beginning home games.

Baby News

Jan and Spencer ended up heading to the hospital right after we left them in Salt Lake (we found out later) to go and get induced. Once we heard about it we were able to get some text updates throughout some of the labor. Jan was amazing and rocked a 34 hour labor (going 29 hours of it completely natural). So after Jan being in labor for so long we were very happy to receive the news that their little guy had finally come and made an appearance (mostly very glad for Jan to be done with labor).
Welcome Kaden to our crazy, fun, loving family. We are so excited to have you here.
Pondering deep things before my flash completely startled him

If you look closely he opened his eyes for his Uncle Brian.

Such a big boy to cuddle up with

Martin Harris Pageant

Brian's family decided to go and see the Martin Harris pageant in Clarkston, Utah. They reserved the tickets just as we headed out to Colorado. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to come but we are glad we told them to get us some tickets just in case.
On our way to the theater Brian and I reminisced about going years ago. Sadly after the pageant was over we both turned to each other and said we preferred the old script better then the new one. But it was still a great pageant to see and a great night enjoying the family (and catching up with the ones we hadn't been able to see yet).

Unfortantely I was unable to get a picture of everyone there. First because everyone was restless and moving around before it started. Second some of them got there after it had actually started. But we had quite the turn out of our crazy family. You can see just how crazy they are as they photo bomb our picture below.

Broncos Vs. 49ners

Brian and Spencer have always wanted to go to a NFL game. This was the last year that Spencer could go and see the 49ners play at Candlestick park. So after much humming and hahhing we sat down and ordered tickets and flights for the boys to go and see their teams play each other on August 8th. They said they had a great time out there. Jan and I say we know they did because we didn't hear from them all day. But we were glad they got to have a guys day meanwhile Jan and I had a girls night. Turns out it was a great last fling for Spencer before Jan ended up in the hospital.

Exploring the bridge

Yay!! Broncos win.

I know it was a quick 24 hour trip but they said they had a lot of fun. Maybe next time we can send them to a season game and not a pre-season game.
