Our new niece was born yesterday. We are so excited to meet her. I might even take a trip up their in a week or so when I am on my second Spring Break. It is a tentative plan that might come to past and might not. That week is pretty busy for us so we will have to see.

New week, New adventures

So I am working on some projects this week in advanced for some holidays and am excited at how easy they are coming together for me. But the biggest news is that I am now in the elementary schools and this is where I will be staying until I graduate in December. I have the last six weeks in a Kindergarten class at Adams Elementary. Today was my first day and I loved it. My cooperating teacher was great!! She allowed me to observe today but still let me put them to use by picking out some new reading books for the reading groups and then creating a new seating chart for the afternoon class. It was perfect and I felt very thankful for her letting me get to try things out like that right at the beginning. I can't wait for the other new and fun things I will get to try as I begin teaching. Yea!!

Spring Break-Arizona/Las Vegas Adventure

We came home to Spring in Logan!! It was a perfect ending to our spring break but let me tell you about our second half of the trip.

So we left San Diego in a nice rainy mist and headed to Arizona to stay the night with my sister Jennifer. We got there around eleven after driving by the wall on the border of Arizona and Mexico and several border control cars then going through border control.

 It was quite the interesting experience and there was an intense eerie feeling the whole time going through that area that I didn't even pull out the camera to take a picture of the wall but you can find one online. After getting through border control everything was fine and we smoothed sailed right to my sister's house getting there at around 10:45. It had been a long night of driving in the dark so we were excited to get there.

We then surprised my niece in the morning and got to play with her for the morning. We then left to go visit Brian's aunt Sharon. We had lunch with her and enjoyed visiting with her and her family for awhile. It was fun to see her house and her in her environment instead of always seeing her in Brigham at Grandpa Romer's house. After the visit we headed to Las Vegas. This was the fun alone time of the trip for Brian and I.
  

We got to our hotel and just relaxed the first night. (we highly recommend staying at South Point if any one is going to Vegas). We really enjoyed our hotel and our stay. The next day was our day of play. We woke up and headed to Hoover Dam. It was fun seeing one of the seven wonders.(or it use to be one)

We also went on the Memorial Bridge that was just recently completed. They were both great sites. We had originally planned on going on the Hoover Dam Tour but found a cool helicopter tour and decided that would be more fun and memorable instead of going on the tour. It was totally worth it. We loved it and it was a first Brian and I got to experience together and not just a first of mine.

After our helicopter tour we went back to our hotel to get our free buffet from joining the players club and a coupon given to us. (yes we coupon shop on our vacation.) It was a decent buffet but it gave us the food we needed to last through the night. We then headed to the strip. We had a show that started at four that we got free tickets to so we headed there and chilled a little for the doors to open.

The show then started and it was Nathan Burton's Magic comedy show. It was really good and I still have no idea how he did the illusions he did. But that is exactly how I like it to be. At that show we got told that if we showed our tickets at another box office we just had to pay for a box office fee for tickets the an hypothesis show that night at ten.

So we headed to the box office and got our two tickets. We were pretty excited to get two shows for ten dollars. It was a really good deal. So we walked around the strip waiting for the show to start and observed all the people that are side shows in Vegas.

It was quite interesting to be walking down the strip and all the sudden see Micheal Jackson, Star Wars fighters, Mario, the dad from Family Guy, and so many more plus all the musicians. But we had fun and really enjoyed the late show we went to.

We then headed back to our hotel for our last night. The next morning we got up, repacked, and checked out. On our way out of town we made the last stop Brian wanted to hit which is the pawn shop that has a show on the history channel called Pawn Stars.

It is one of Brian's favorite shows and he wanted to go see some of the items from the tv show. We then began our trek home. We had a great Spring Break and really enjoyed the sun we got to see and feel. It was warm but not hot. We also got to get our passes for this summer that we brought on a groupon.

M & M's are my favorite!! So we had to go visit and see what was new.

We got to see the lions again but this time we learned even more about them. Like the fact that they switch out the lions every four hours and that the habitat they live in is worth a ton but they still let you come see it for free.

Brian's favorite part of the trip even though we didn't get to see too much in the shop that he has seen from TV.

That was our spring break and we are now home and back to the reality of homework and work but we sure had fun and enjoyed the road trip where we created a lot of memories with our family and each other.
Now on to the homework that I should have done first......

Load pictures??

So I have another post for Spring Break but I can't get the pictures to load. It is telling me to buy more storage. Is there any way around purchasing more storage and still load the pictures?? Anyone know?? I can't find anything. I deleted a few of the pictures from my first posts which is sad but I still can't load anything. I will keep trying so check back for the second Spring Break post. It is a really good one.

Spring Break-California Adventure

Brian and I had a great Spring Break but it sure was long and exhausting with all of our driving. Since I have so many pictures I am splitting it up into two posts. California and Las Vegas/Arizona. Read both!!

Brian and I began our Spring Break on Sunday bright and early. Right when Brian got home we got the rental car all packed up and ready. We did a quick overview through the house making sure we didn't forget everything and got right onto the road. We had a twelve hour drive ahead of us going straight to San Diego. Brian decided to drive for the first part so that he was tired when he tried to go to sleep. He made it to about Salt Lake then I took over. I then made it to Beaver when we pulled over for gas and since Brian was awake he was ready to take over the driving again. We were so sore by the time we got to Las Vegas so we decided to pull over and redeem our free coupons for a show and then eat some lunch so we'd get a quick break. It was a great walk around that we both needed. We enjoyed the warm sun while walking around. That was the last time we were in the sun for a couple days since San Diego had rain right when we entered and it didn't stop before we left. We did finally get to San Diego late after a little detour in Barstow. Luckily our trusty new GPS got us unlost and back on the right track. Once we got to San Diego we were hungry and exhausted. We headed straight to the restaurant Fred's Mexican food since we had found a coupon that let us both eat for the price of one and it was in Old Town which allowed us to see it. The food was good but we had some fun with the show of the group next to us. We then headed to the hotel and went to bed. In the morning we got up and headed right over the San Diego State University to check out the campus. Brian had set up an appointment with them so a guy was ready to meet us and lead Brian to the classroom where he was going to sit through a part of the class. He loved the class and got a really good feeling about the school and getting accepted. Once we were done at the school we headed to get in a few of the sights before leaving for Arizona. We got in some major sight seeing. The first stop was the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Brian really wanted to go here so it was the first stop. We then headed toward Seaport Village and made some detours on the way there by going over the huge Bridge that lead San Diego to Coronado. It was a great view of the skyline of San Diego. We then headed back to Seaport Village where I got a quick view of the ocean. The one thing I really wanted to do on our trip. Since the trip was more an investment in grad school the sight seeing was a bonus. We then left and headed to Arizona, another six hour drive.
