February Celebration

Due to our large families, we always do birthday celebrations by the month/time frame of 4 weeks. My family amazingly enough (since there are now 20 of us) have no birthdays in February. Brian's family does though. So we enjoyed a quick dinner together and some fun time just relaxing around. Sadly a few of the family wasn't able to make it due to being sick. ( We missed you M family!) But we had a few laughs and enjoyed the night together. Here are a few pictures I captured:
Boys relaxing, Brian almost took a nap here.

Ready to sing!!

Blowing out the candles

These two were friends/enemies all night. Kaden would love having Dixie come by him and would laugh and giggle until he would just squeal super loud. Dixie was fine with the petting and laughing but as soon as Kaden started squealing she was done and would run away.

I can't believe February ends this week! Where did it go? I know I was super busy from the beginning right to the last day but it just disappeared on me. But bring on March. I keep telling Brian that it will be our month since he finishes up his classes and only has 2 more rounds of classes to go. Plus he gets a lot more time off with his 2 week long spring break from classes. It should be a great month with lots of fun with family and friends squeezed in.

Valentine's Day and President's Day

Brian and I don't have many "holidays" together or even "special" days. So when we do get one together a lot of the time we don't buy gifts for each other like is "normal". We just want to spend the day together having a good time. So like is normal for us we didn't have time together on Valentine's Day. Brian had a night class that went until 10 pm. So I sat at home, watched a few movies, and enjoyed a quite relaxing night. But the next morning we slept in, then ran a few errands, got some apple fritters and chocolate milk for breakfast, and then Brian took me to Sherwood Hills to meet my mom. I wrote a paper he dictated to me on the way. My mom and I spent about an hour or so together getting a few things organized around her house and just chatting. Then she took me to the frontrunner station in Ogden so I could catch it to Murray. Brian and I were going to be "mom and dad" for the night so Jan and Spencer could enjoy a night away celebrating their anniversary. It was planned perfectly too, until Brian's intern's wife had her baby early and he got called into work. Luckily I have family who loves me and made it so I could head down and still get their at the appointed time. I was nervous about going on the frontrunner by myself but had no problems and sat by a cute elderly couple on their way to visit their daughter and grandchildren. He told me lots of stories and kept telling his wife how things had changed since he was on frontrunner last when he worked and kept a junker at the station with only $3 worth a of gas in it.Sadly, I took no pictures of most of this part of our weekend. But Brian got down their after the afternoon game and we got to enjoy some yummy Apollo burgers and the Olympics while Kaden slept the night away.

The next day we went back home and relaxed, but made fun plans for the next day to celebrate the holidays. Monday began with a small unplanned sleep in. It was nice but not planned. We then went to breakfast (my favorite meals but not Brian's) at Herm's. It was delicious and really well priced. If you ever want to come and join us for breakfast in Logan we will take you here and I promise you will enjoy it.
Best unknown place for breakfast in Logan, a gem in the island

My yummy pancake that Brian had to help me eat! 16 inches here of deliciousness

Brian's Strawberry Stuffed French Toast. They were different then regular french toast but in a good way.

We then went home where Brian got to enjoy his favorite thing.....a nap while I relaxed and worked on a few things. Then we went for a walk to Angies, where we met my friend for lunch. Brian has been wanting to go back to get lunch here since we came back in December and had their lunch special of the double double decker combo meal. He will highly recommend it while I will recommend the Turkey bacon melt half sandwich with the salad or soup and add the slice of cheesecake. It is a perfect combo for sure.

We then walked home, relaxed for a little bit, got changed, and headed up Logan canyon to Beaver mountain for some night boarding. We were hoping to take lessons when we first got there to remember everything but the class was full. So we went up and down the bunny hill 2 or 3 times and headed up the hill. We remembered things pretty well, decided to do the 7 o'clock class to learn something new and make sure we remembered everything right. The class was perfect. There was only 3 of us and it helped us remember some of the little techniques about the moves to make us more confident. Then the instructor taught us two new moves. We then had the joy of stumbling down the hill together. He was a great patient instructor who had been working all day. It was perfect except the second we were done I was done. My toes were hurting and I was ready to stop moving because my right knee was dead! I guess I fell one too many times on it because I bruised it up really good and now am dealing with a still very sore knee a couple days later. But the good news is I didn't leave the left knee out, it got a good bruise on it too. The left one only got one though the right got like 3 deep ones right next to each other.

Only picture of snowboarding to avoid a damaged camera.
After snowboarding we went home and crashed!! But it was the perfect day for spending together. It sounds like we did a lot and spent a lot but we didn't. We had gift cards for most of the places we went and so we spent like nothing to enjoy a fun filled day together and had some great laughs. A perfect weekend filled with time together, family, and just enjoying every moment.

Super Bowl

The last couple years I have not enjoyed the Super Bowl very much. I love it when games are close, people cheer for different teams, there are some funny commercials, and we have some yummy food to enjoy.
The only thing the last couple years has had is the yummy food. Everything else has been blah! This year I was so excited thinking it was going to actually be a good game.........then the first play happened and everything died fast!!! Oh well, we had a good time wishing Dean-o a happy birthday and catching up with family. Plus we got a few pictures. Good thing I pulled out the camera so I have something to show for those hours of a painful to watch game. Luckily we got to watch our Aggies on the field, they made the lose not so bad!
Scott coming to watch. Broncos fan.

We were all Broncos fans. At the end of the game I wanted a cute picture of our outfits but Brian wasn't the biggest sport. At least we both look cute cheering on the losing team.

No 49ners so they cheered for the Broncos with us.

The family that didn't wear any orange and blue. Kira said she was cheering for the other team along with baby J.
Good thing we enjoy just getting together. Plus I had a game idea this time which was based off the score, so someone won a piece of candy at the end of each quarter. That kept us watching it to see who would win.
The kids loved the bucket and the candy inside. Baby J also loved Baby K's bottles and kept hitting people with them. Had to take a picture of her when she was by the bucket and the bottles.
Hopefully next year it is a better game with all my wishlist needs being met. :)

End of January

Well the last half of January got a little busy for Brian which gave me little time with a computer so no time to blog. We also didn't do a whole lot of fun things because Brian was super busy with school work and working every game.So here is a little update.
Brian: He has been working really hard. He had lots of basketball games. It was about 2 to 3 a week for a while there. Then he is taking a huge load of classes right now with major group projects and he is struggling getting his group together and productive. Then he has office hours that he is trying to fit in between the group projects and he got a little sick with the flu we think. He had a fever, body aches, and stuffy nose/cough. He finally kicked it though and is feeling better especially since a few of his classes are ending within the month and then he gets a 2 week break from classes and basketball ends all at the same time. We can't wait until then. He is also feeling totally done with school so we are seriously counting the months we have left......only 3 1/2 more to go!
Me: I have been working hard. I teach every day, do homework club in the afternoon, and BATC 2 nights a week. I have begun to get up early (like super early) to go workout 3 days a week. I try to keep our apartment organized and together since we both come and go so much we seem to never be there. I got to be "mom" for 2 weekends for my fun niece and nephews. We got to have some fun movie nights, do a sleepover, go to lots of basketball games (their games), go to practice, and go through the emotions of having mom and dad away. I just finished up parent teacher conferences which is the worst time as a teacher since it is so much prep......especially for a kindergarten teacher. Now I am focusing on their last tests coming up and how I can best prepare them for what they need to still know in the last few months left of school.
Although we haven't had a ton of fun things we did get to enjoy a men's basketball game together. Brian had to work a little of it and then got to spend the majority of it in the stands with me. It was the White out game against San Diego State. We ended up losing but went into overtime. Plus a group of people in front of us had a white board and between it and Brian's connections we got on the kiss cam!! Then we were able to go cheer on the Broncos and the 49ners with Jan and Spencer at their house. Sadly the 49ners lost so we didn't get to play each other in the Super Bowl. But we had lots of fun together and enjoyed spending the day together. Then the next day Brian, Spencer, and I helped my brother move. It was a long day with that but it was fun to see my nieces and catch up with my sisters while getting boxes packed.
He wasn't sure what to think of those 49ners and their game.

Yeah for a fun day!

We won!!

What are you doing??

White out game!! we couldn't get it to focus because of all the white.

Much better on a shorter length.

That basically gets us through January and into February. Hopefully we get a few more dates and fun times that we will take pictures more this month.
