Post Christmas

Brian and I were thinking of doing something fun with our time off together. After a lot of thinking and looking up different things we decided to stay home. We have been able to relax. I got some great new outfits for school and we got to do another first.

Can you guess what it was?? Yep, even though I have lived in Utah most of my live I have never been skiing or snowboarding. So we went up on Public Ski night to try it out. Luckily my husband loves me and paid for lessons. I only fell a few times but it was a lot of fun.....until my binding broke. Then we decided to take a break and immediately started to feel the sore muscles. It was a lot of fun and we were happy to have Cristy and Dillon join us. It made it even more fun. We will see if we decide to go again.
I will try to post some pictures of my new clothes when I get an outfit on. I really felt spoiled by Brian. He gave me a great Christmas the day after Christmas, have to love the sales post Christmas.

Parties

Christmas time is always time for parties and family get togethers. We had quite a few that fell back to back for us.
The first one was the Peterson Party for Brian's side. We got to enjoy a yummy breakfast and a special program about the reason we celebrate Christmas. Then we exchanged gifts. Brian and I gave the cousins we had Ladderball. We got a Date Night Jar with some popcorn, salsa, and chips. Now we have date ideas at our finger tips.
This is the only picture I took. Sad but true.
That same night we got together with some of my siblings for a fun filled game night. We went to the Fun Park where my sister works. She gets free passes to enjoy games but is leaving Logan for a new job. So we used her passes to have some fun. We really appreciate her sharing with us so we could enjoy a night together. We had originally planned on doing midnight laser tag but they were running low on games. So instead we did a quick game of laser tag and then bowled. Don't worry Brian beat everyone in both games.

I only got a few pictures before I decided to just focus on bowling. Sadly I didn't get a picture of our teams in Laser tag or we could have had a fun group picture.

The next day we got together with my family at my parent's house. My grandpa joined us and told us a cool story about our great grandpa. I guess he ended up doing some barbering and once got paid with a 2 dollar bill. He kept that bill in his wallet for 30 years. So my grandpa gave all of us a 2 dollar bill. It is a special gift that I am excited to keep and pass the story on to my children.
The only picture I took of this party was of my nieces sword fighting. It was so cute watching the four of them go at it in a fun playful way. My brother gave us a game that is telephone in a board game. We haven't had a chance to play it yet but I hope to on New Year's Eve.
She saw the camera and immediately said Cheese. It is so cute!!

The last party was on Christmas Eve. We got together with Brian's family. We got to eat a yummy Turkey dinner and exchange gifts. It was a fun night. We then got to enjoy a relaxing Christmas day with family. We got to see Brian's mom and grandpa plus some of his sisters and a few other people. It was nice to relax, get to sleep in, and just relax. It was a great Christmas.

Gosner Classic

Every year USU hosts a Gosner Classic Tournament. This year Brian got some tickets given to him so we got to have a few people join us. It was fun because I didn't have to sit in the stands by myself.
Here are some of the pictures that I got.
Nathan and Bryce ended up on the court shooting. Bryce missed but Nathan made it.

The next night we had four boys on the court. Nathan, Bryce, Dillon, and Cole.

Cole's big shot

They all missed and got a pom pom. I made him wear it as hair.

We went early and got great seats. Everyone was having a lot of fun.

They got to participate in the cheese race and got I like Cheese shirts

The games were good too. They were close most nights but the last night we stayed ahead by ten or more the whole time.
It sure was fun having everyone come. I had fun watching the games, hanging out with the nephews, and getting to watch Brian do his job. Win-win for everyone.....except during the events. The boys didn't do the best but I got it on video.

Parent's Christmas Present

I am definitely a first year teacher as I decided to undertake a huge project for my Kindergarteners to give to their parents for Christmas. I was able to finish it all up due to some amazing people being willing to help me. Plus I discovered a way to make it easier if I decide to do it again next year. But I thought it turned out super cute and just had to share it.

We definitely had a fun adventure getting twenty students to do lots of handprints for all the different months. But it was so much fun and I will probably be crazy enough to do it again next year.

Healthy House

On December 17th I had my Christmas work party and we made healthy gingerbread houses. It wasn't something that made much sense to me when I first heard about it but it sure turned out cute.
So we used pretzels, graham crackers, raisins, crasins, life cereal, peanut butter to stick it together, and coconut to make it look like snow. It was a fun idea but we had a hard time getting the peanut butter to stick the best. It still worked out and had a lot of fun.

5 years ago today....

....Brian and I went on our FIRST date. It is crazy to think that we have been dating for five years. I am sure glad he asked me out and I agreed. The weather outside reminds me of that night too because we had a lot of snow that year and a snow storm the night. I thought it would be fun to go to the places we drove that night but we decided it was too cold and spent the day relaxing together. I am sure happy that we got together. We have created some amazing memories and I am excited to continue creating more memories.

Here are a few pictures of things that we have enjoyed together in the past couple years. I sure do love this guy and am excited that we had that first date to begin this amazing adventure.
I love you babe! Can't wait for the rest of our adventure to keep getting written.
