Weekend of PUMPKINS!!!

Lame as it is I am only just finally getting around to getting this post up. I had a take home math test I had to get done yesterday along with a group project for today so the weekend appears on Wednesday.

Thursday I went to the Pumpkin Walk with the Preschoolers and it was a lot of fun. They were so excited to see all the different scenes. Not the same ones all the time that I was excited to see since they didn't know half of what the scenes were even of but it was fun to see what movies the different children had seen and which movies they really liked. If you have never been to the pumpkin walk let me quickly explain what it is so you understand and can follow the pictures.

The pumpkin walk is a tradition of ours up here in Logan. People create things out of pumpkins to fit the theme of the year. This year's theme was the Magic of Animation. So we had movies galore with a few fun oldies in between. After going on Thursday I then had plans to go with Brian, Jan, Spencer, Scott, and a date plus Brian's family after his nephew's birthday party.

We began the date by getting lost in trying to find Scott's date's house out in Nibley. Don't worry we did find it and it became a great story as to why we need to know the actual location of where each little town in Cache Valley is located since you might think you remember where they are but are confusing two of the little towns up. Not so good.

But we were able to pick her up and had a great time telling her our tale of our adventure. Her name was Shauntelle and I know her from the preschool I am teaching it. So that is the girl in the pictures with Scott that isn't familiar. Anyway we started the date late due to the lack of geography we all had but everything worked out still. We got to the pumpkin walk right as it was getting crowded. So instead of taking the CVT up for free from the school we got our exercise and walked.

It wasn't way far but the bus is a great convenience. We found out once we got up to the line to get into the park that the reason why the line for the bus was so long is because all of our family was in line. Oh well though we got us all the way to the entrance basically by the time they got there.

We then began looking around. Since I had been on Thursday I had a preview of what I was suppose to be looking for in each scene. It was a little alien from Toy Story. We found it in all but three scenes I think and we couldn't decide if they were hidden just right or if they were never put in.

I put up the pictures of just a few of the scenes that were my favorite. Can you figure out what movie it is? Some of the scenes were big so I had to take a couple pictures. But hey when the art and creativity is as good as it is you just have to get proof of it.

I think a lot of us really liked the first two of Toy Story and a Bug's life but Monster's Inc., Nemo, the Smurf's, Madagascar, Polar Express, Princess and the Frog, and so many more were really good too. Oh my there were too many good ones to choose from. As we walked we always had a new favorite. Brian and Spencer were really fun to watch as they danced to "I like to Move It". We then ended up in a line by the fire on the way inside the shed to get our cookie (yeah even the small little pepperidge farm cookie was worth the wait). We got lucky it was a warm night so the fire wasn't even really needed not that that stopped anyone from taking a seat for a little bit. Brian decided this was the perfect time to do a couple spin off. He would pick me up and spin me and Spencer followed suit. It was fun and really funny.

Anyway after the pumpkin walk we headed back to the car after taking a gazillon pictures at the cutouts first.The cutouts are a most do whenever you see them so we took lots. It was fun to try the different ones. I posted a few here. I also put the winner of the sleeping beauty pose....Scott and Shauntelle by a huge leap and bound. She knew what she was doing.

We were able to make it on the bus for the ride back to the car instead of having to walk which was way nice. We even met a great couple who sat behind us (the picture isn't here but you can see it on facebook. The gentleman's face is classic.) After getting to the car we ended up doing an impromptu race which Spencer won since his car is quicker at getting up and going but remember who won the real race. 

When we got home we were all starving and were ready for pizza and craving pumpkins. (I told you weekend of pumpkins) The pizza was a Jack-o-lantern to fit into the them of course. By the time the first pizza was done we all had our designs picked out and the pumpkins almost gutted. We were quick workers.

Here is what everyone choose so you can tell who's pumpkin is whose in the first picture: Shauntelle-scream guy (it broke just as we started to take pictures though :( ), Scott- Skeleton head and cross bones ( he cut out the nose though), Jan-Spider and spider web (originally Spencer's but his pumpkin was too small for it), Spencer- three skeleton heads, and Me- a sad face. Brian was getting ready for work and unable to do one.

The pumpkin craving kits you can buy sure make craving and gutting pumpkins easier than they were when we were younger don't they? I had my pumpkin done and ready for the pouch before I even really had to think about it.Jan and Shauntelle's pumpkins took the longest to do and that is just because of the detail they had.

We then took pictures and all ate another slice of pizza. Brian was gone to work by this time and it was pretty late. Late enough in fact that True Aggie night had started. Brian and I were planning to go so we ended up walking up there to see how things were going. Next time Brian and I will be up on the A and not me alone watching other couples.

We then went home and went to bed. The next day was the Aggie's homecoming parade and game so it was going to be a long day. Unfortunately we all slept through the parade except Jan. So we just got up and got ready to go to the tailgate party and the game.

We got up to the tailgate party just in time to get our free food from the Hurd. It was Texas Road House and was really good. We then headed into the game. It was a good game until half time. It started raining half way through the second quarter and everyone ended up soaked. We ran home to change and come back better prepared since the rain hadn't let up once.

However, history was made when we left our very first USU football game before the game ended. We went back for one quarter and about three minutes of the fourth quarter and we gave up and went home. We weren't going to win and we actually saw the score for the game of 7- 45 make it up on the scoreboard. So we definitely didn't miss anything and enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate from our hot coco machine instead of freezing. We also made plans to go to the USU vs. BYU hockey game so we could watch our team win and the guys got to see people fight.

We got to the hockey game a little late due to needing to change clothes and get some dinner on the way there but it worked out fine. We only missed one goal for each team so they were still tied when we got there. It was a really good game and USU almost lost everything right at the end but we still won by one goal. Plus the boys got to see the fights they were hoping to see.

When then went home and all crashed pretty hard since it had been such a long day and the night before was really long too. Brian had to work again though so he left to work right after the game. Sunday we both caught up on sleep and homework after church and just got to enjoy the chance to relax and prepare ourselves for the crazy week we both had ahead.  Now we are on Wednesday and we have most of the week behind us which is great!

We are just getting things together for family pictures and rejoicing that basketball season is starting this weekend. Hooray!!! I am pretty sure we won't be leaving one of these games early unless Brian has to work.....which might happen a few times.

In fact we will be celebrating Wednesday with the Blue and White scrimmage to get an idea of who our new basketball players are and where they will be playing. Brian and Scott are way excited and I am excited to be spending the night with Brian. Since he begins work again tomorrow.

This coming weekend is already planned and ready to be great fun with family and friends. Hopefully everything works out and I have a few more pictures to post again. (Maybe just not as many....I did only post a few since we took a ton of pictures all weekend.)

PUMPKINS

Starting tomorrow I am going to be seeing a lot of these the rest of the week. I am really excited and can't wait to post the pictures I will be taking....so keep your eyes open for them. :)

FALL Break....

 ....was exactly what we all needed, a break from school and reality. Now I am writing this before running to my first class on Monday morning and wishing it was still the weekend.

 Fall Break for us began Wednesday night when we went country swing dancing after my last day of work. We haven't been for awhile and it was fun experimenting trying to figure out the moves again.
Thursday we then both went to our one class of the day and tried to get some homework done so we could party the rest of the weekend/break. That night we went to the USU hockey game. It was a blast!! We won in the last period by getting four goals. Yeah insane!!
We then stayed up late that night playing phase ten and just laughing our heads off at the stupidest funnest things. We haven't done that in quite awhile so it was a lot of fun.

Friday we slept in a little but not much because we had a whole day planned in Park City!!! We went to the outlets and went shopping. I found some cute new shirts and sweaters that I can't wait to wear.

The boys just had fun playing around on the little kids toys. We then headed to the Alpine Slide since one of our friends had never been before. It was so much fun to race it just took us three lines to get on the slide.
That night we stayed at The Cabin and had fun playing games again. I was a little bit of a party pooper this night since I was exhausted from the day but oh well.

Saturday we hit the outlets one more time to look at some things we were thinking about for the family picture we have coming up. The guys were pretty much shopped out by then though so we ended early.

We went to the Alpine Coaster this day and our opinion is it is fun to try it out once but we all agreed the slide was our favorite. It's just more of a continuous process is why I like it, instead of one long line and then riding up by yourself.

After Park City we headed to Salt Lake to the New Balance Store to look at some shoes for Brian and me for Christmas.

Our plan is to buy running shoes for each other and then train together to run a half marathon next spring.

All the boys ended up getting shoes since we found such a good deal ($40 dollars a pair from originally $120).

We then headed to Plain City for Scott's family birthday party.
It was tons of fun with an ice cream cake to top it all off.

We also got some FREE pumpkins to crave this week. Thanks Dean and Lori we are so excited to carve them...we might even make it a contest!!!

Oh what a great weekend only to come back to work and lots of homework. :(

2 posts in 1 day = uncommon, 3 posts in 1 day = unheard of....until now

So I have been promising a tour of the preschool and still don't have pictures of the room without children but I will hopefully soon. I do have pictures of three of our four pets though. So I thought I would share what I do have.

 This is Midnight and Bubbles are two guinea pigs. The children love to hold these two critters but it is pretty hard to catch them and squeal really loud when you try so I hate catching them!

This turtle is Milo and although I thought it was a he I found out last week he is actually a she and is 16 years old. Go Milo!! Anyway she loves to be hand fed and if you are daring enough you can actually have her nibble right from your fingers. The children love to feed her and to pet her which is quite interesting to do.

There is also a fish but I didn't think of taking a picture when I was taking these two other ones. I don't know the fishes name since it doesn't have one as far as we all know. The children love to try to pet it though. Can you really pet a fish??

The weekend...

was great fun except for the fact that I was sick!!! Preschool can do that to you way to easily.

So I was able to survive my first week of head teacher in the preschool last week and managed to stay on top of my homework too but all that stress just made my body weak and let a nasty cold get in. Luckily I have friends and family that really care about me and helped me get better really fast by buying me some medicine and letting me sleep all day. Thanks everyone for all your help.

Besides being sick Brian and I still did some of our usual routine for the weekend. We went to the Aggie game showing and watched the worse game ever. (I should clarify here before Brian does, I only watched the first half and slept through the second half.) This was after going to Dillon's amazing soccer game that he won, seeing my family, and celebrating his mom's birthday. It was a good weekend filled with family and lots of sleep for Brian and me. (Brian's was due to working all weekend.)

 All in all it was a pretty good weekend it just ended way too soon especially after helping Jan surprise Spencer and Spencer surprise Jan. (Great minds think alike!!) We just are really excited for this coming weekend with Fall Break and a trip to Park City with our friends.

This week has been a lot of fun but very stressful with me head teaching and doing a parent meeting/family party at the preschool too. All in all though it has been fun and we really enjoyed the night out. (read post below I had issues and couldn't conclude) I will be taking some pictures of my classroom and the animals tonight to give you some insight into what goes on at the preschool.

Conference Weekend and Jan's Birthday

So I finally have a few moments to quickly tell you about my weekend. There will be a lot of pictures on this post just to give you a heads up. :)
On Friday USU played BYU the big rivalry game so obviously Brian and I were going to be there. We got there in time to grab our free food at the tailgate and to run up and get in the massive line to get inside. We were definitely a lot higher than we normally would be but we still had a great view of USU winning!!!

Saturday was General Conference and a busy day for us. I had to go get a few things together for the preschool so that on Monday we could discuss a family part we are having this week. So I had Jan, Spencer, and Brian come be my people to load up so we could just get everything together quickly. After we finished up there I was able to run and get my haircut. YAY!!! Then Saturday afternoon we headed down to Plain City. We ended up racing our car with us and Scott in it against Spencer's car who had Jan and him in it. Guess who won?? That is right Brian. He is too competitive to give up until the very end which caused us to win by a block and a half. We then watched the second half of conference then headed to Ladies Night. It is a tradition to go every year while the men are at priesthood.

After Ladies Night and Priesthood session we headed to the Pizza Factory for dinner. It was birthday dinner for Kira and me.

The best part of the whole night was probably when grandma prevented Grant from stuffing a big bread stick in his mouth and he glared at her for a solid two or three minutes. He told her huh?

Yeah that is right. You can't do that.

Saturday night Brian and I stayed at my parent's house. We played games too late into the early morning hours to want to go much further than Perry anyway. On Sunday we listened to conference which was really good. In between sessions we went to take some pictures of my niece Savennah. After we finished the pictures we went home and made Rice Crispies or "Ice Ispies" as Savennah first said they were.

Jan's birthday was yesterday and we all got together again for a quick dinner at Chili's. It was a easy night for dinner because of it. Happy Birthday Jan!!
