President's Day

Although this whole weekend Brian and I should have gotten homework done we didn't do very much. I will be hopefully posting two new posts and getting my butt back in gear with homework since I have some big things due this week.
**Here is where the burn out sigh comes.**
I have no desire to do homework, haven't for a good week and a half.(too burned out) No desire doesn't mean things aren't getting done. No sir, I have been turning in homework assignments just not staying ahead any more. (it is more of trying to just survive)

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get over this???

I really hate having no desire especially when it comes to writing lesson units and papers. They take twice as long to get done!! (The reason is no desire = no creativity, I have three of these due in the coming weeks)

Any suggestions or relief efforts are greatly appreciated.

On sunday....

...I had a mishap.
I was getting ready today and my wonderful friend

Yes my straightener that I have had since my junior year of high school decided not to turn on.

The on/off switched didn't want to stay in place to keep the light on.

If I held it it would turn on.

Solution? Tape the switch up in place. Guess what it worked.
So for now I still have a working five year old (or more I am not sure) straightener.

Good Old Revlon. I keep telling Brian I should get a new one but I don't want to spend the money to get a new one when this one is still doing the job I need everyday (or almost everyday). We will see how long the tape and switch decide to hold out.

Anyone else have an old straightener that still works and they still use??

Brian got his birthday gift back on Superbowl Sunday and it is the perfect gift. I finally had time to hang it up on our wall too.

Perfect showing of us. Grandpa Romer's sign with both of our names and now a star of USU which brought us together. We love both of these items and will have them hanging in our house for years.

Olive Garden and Brian Regan

Brian and I got all dolled up on Friday to go out on our Valentine's date. It was so much fun getting dressed up since with school and work being all I do I don't get to do it much. We went out to dinner at Olive Garden and were in a big hurry so we didn't have time to take pictures. We then rushed over to the Ellen Eccles Theater and were three minutes late for the show. Luckily we only missed a small part of the opening act. We then got to listen to Brian Regan and laughed solidly for an hour. It was so much fun. We had some great seats except for when the person in front of me would lean forward....then I couldn't see very much but that's okay. It didn't happen very often. What a fun night! Brian and I really enjoyed ourselves and spending the night with Jan and Spencer. Only problem is we were all exhausted and seriously crashed as soon as we got home. Guess school and work is finally catching up with us.

Last Night.....

Sure was a fun second to last home Aggie game. So the game was over within the first 15 minutes but halftime turned fun when this happened:

The backboard shattered. Not once but twice and a whole new hoop had to be brought out to finish the game. The sad thing.....it was the first game where the camera got left at home. Brian had class and wasn't down on the court and I had visiting teachers come over right as Brian left for the game. So I was in a big hurry out the door and decided not to bother. I was very sad not to have a camera and had to borrow these images from the Utah State University facebook page and the Salt Lake Tribune website. It sure was a fun game to attend just for this reason. (Brian missed it sadly, he had already left for class. Just Spencer and I sitting there enjoying the circus of trying to change backboards.)

Valentine's Day.......

......post is coming this weekend. My valentine's day date will be tomorrow. February 18th and I can't wait!!

Weekend fun

So I succeed at surprising Brian with the homemade oreos and he loved them!! Plus we were able to share them with our family and friends. Then we were able to enjoy some time with our family and friends.
Friday we went and hung out with our friend Jessa in the afternoon to celebrate her finding a job and an apartment up here in Logan.We went out to Texas Roadhouse and had a lot of fun with just some interesting and new conversations. That night we went out with the fam for a night out. Spencer, Jan, and Scott all came over and we went out to dinner and then bowling. It was fun even if I had a hard time getting going.......then again we all did. So it was an even game. I did come back as the score shows.
Saturday Brian and I got up and went to Logan Rec Center to see the Poppletons. Dillon was playing basketball that morning and Kaylee later that afternoon. Since we hadn't seen them in awhile we went to hang out with them. Boy, did we have fun too!! After the game we went up Logan Canyon to first dam so that Kaylee and Dillon could take some pictures for a school contest. Brian and I have always loved first dam but we love to feed the ducks up there, so we brought a cheap loaf of bread on our way up. It was a blast. I helped Kaylee take some pictures and didn't get any of our own. Let's just say Brian and I were laughing and having a lot of fun with our niece and nephews in the warm sun.
That night Brian had the third to last men basketball game. So he went up early and I went up to save seats. Scott joined me about forty minutes after I got there with his date. Jan and Spencer showed up another thirty minutes after that. The game was a blowout by the half but it was still fun. We then played games at our apartment to our hearts desire. It was a lot of fun.
Sunday Brian and I relaxed, went to church, and tried to catch up on homework. It was this day that we discovered Brian had left his backpack up at the library when on Friday. Guess what too? Nobody ever turned it in. SO the book, calculator, bag, earphones, notes, and whatever else was in the bag are gone. Sad day. It made it so Sunday became a little more down than it was before. Oh well. That is life.
That was also our weekend with just a few more oreo cookies made to get rid of the frosting. These ones were shared with my sisters. The one who lent me the eggs I needed for both batches got the majority of them while a few went home to my parents.

SURPRISE....

.....for Brian!!
Brian planned our Valentine's date back in November and we will be celebrating Valentine's day next weekend. So I decided to surprise Brian with his own little Valentine.

 Homemade Oreo cookies. Brian loves these. I have never made them before so it was a good trial and error. The ones above are the best looking ones.

While these ones could use a little work but they still taste good. I tried one of them. I made them while Brian was in class after I finished my math test today. I sure hope he is surprised. Also this week ended up being a crazy week for Brian so this allows me to show him in action how much I appreciate all he does to support us. He is the BEST!!! I love you Brian!!

p.s. the frosting is sinfully good!! I have some left over too and am not sure what to do with it. 

Lately.....in pictures

So the camera hasn't been out as much over the past few weeks. We have enjoyed some fun occasions but our minds have been focused on other things than capturing moments. Sad huh?
So let the small slide show of pictures begin:

 So this car was one of the people who love to block our driveway on nights that the Aggies play. Although it was the best one I have ever seen.

 Since he parked super close to the car behind him too. Not just in the red zone and part of our driveway.

 See way too close for comfort if you ask me. I tried to get the person a parking ticket through a number given to me by the person who gave Jan a ticket in our driveway and nothing came of it. Too bad wish I could punish them somehow. Luckily we have only had to call the cops once when someone totally blocked the driveway.

 The only picture I was able to get on Brian's first night of the internship but I barely caught him so you can't really see him. Sad on my part. Luckily I have had more opportunities since and there are better pictures lower.

Jan had her bridal shower and it was really fun. We made her some advice cards from candy bars. Boy were we creative. 

 Here is the second advice card. We were in teams and had different candy bars. Although we gave her similar advice we had some very unique ways of getting around to it. The picture below is of Jan and her friends (Kelly was substituted by her mom and sister).

 The pictures of Brian doing his internship. Although almost everyone he works with hates the job Brian loves it.

 Which is why he is a volunteer and they are all work studies. Not a single one of them is going into a degree that this internship will even help them in though. Too bad huh?

 Brian looked and applied to jobs in the sports part of USU his whole time up here and couldn't find anything. Now we are beginning to understand why.

 Even the people in charge of his group don't have degrees in sports management or the area they are working in (like marketing). They just have experience.

 For my classes this semester my teachers can reserve a Friday to do extra classes. This past week I had a NASA day.

 We made cars that were fueled by water and settling stomach tablets. ( I can't spell the correct name for the life of me.) We played with things like this in the preschool all the time. Best activity for any age group. Too bad we didn't make cars. Totally would now if I had had this before.

 Our group car went the furthest. We were also the only group who had gray wheels. don't know why maybe because I knew they were smooth and rolled better than the white film canister lids. (Thanks dad for having film canisters around me the whole time I was growing up.)

 It was so pretty last Saturday night up here in Logan. This is the picture of the sunset as Scott and I were waiting to get into the Spectrum for the Basketball game. Brian was already busy at work.

 Sunday was of course the Super Bowl. Brian and I went down to his parent's house for the party. While there the pictures came out for Jan to find some for her wedding. I had to try to get some pictures of some of them.
This is Dean when he was about a year. Brian has a baby picture at his grandpa's house that looks a lot like this....meaning Brian and I are going to have chubby cheek babies (probably).

 This picture didn't turn darn it. But Brian and Scott after they graduated from Seminary. they both look so young. Crazy. Brian doesn't look like he has changed that much to me but Scott sure has.

 Here we are. Ready in our mean green to cheer on the Packers. And even though the Steeler family was there we won.

 This should be a picture of Dean. Don't know what happened. I'll have to try to replace it tomorrow.

And my handsome guy just as the game was getting ready to start. He was so ready for the game to beginning. Although I think we all were.


We have been having a lot of fun lately but staying way too busy to enjoy a lot of it since school is never too far from our minds as you can tell from the post previous to this one.

One more semester and we will be mostly homework free (unless life takes the turn we are hoping for....)
