Ahead.....kind of

.....in homework and life.....??
Not here we aren't. We are sure trying to stay on top of and ahead on the homework and have succeed pretty well up to this point. Nothing has been rushed late into the night to get done. Which, I might add, is a very good thing since Brian and I don't have much time. Brian now has an internship at USU helping with the activities that get put on in the Spectrum. We are very blessed with how it came about and can't be more happy about it. Tomorrow we are going down to U of U to interview for the internship there starting this summer and going into next fall. If we get accepted and decide to take it Brian and I could be in for some big changes.....this could include moving. Life sure can change on you.
Anyway we sure hope it does since it might allow us some time to save up for grad school.
We also are looking at a trip to San Diego during the spring break to check out the campus and get acquainted with the people in charge of the program. Anyone up for joining us?? We could split the cost and enjoy a fun road trip.
This post is a little random but it is just to give you an update on why we don't really update. So look forward to more random posts about random different things.

One Year

One year ago today I wrote my very first post on this blog. I think it was the day I even created this blog. Pretty exciting to me. Definitely happy I did it even if it was made first for a homework assignment.

New decoration???

So if you haven't been to our apartment lately you are missing out on this......
This little beauty is 8 feet tall and takes up our whole window area. It is a beautiful box don't you think??
I know you are all jealous of it. I mean just look at the name. It explains exactly how Brian felt when he walked down the stairs and saw it for the first time....
"It's name sure fits it. Magnussen. Beyond the expected...that's an understatement."

Amazing Week

Wow this week has sure been a great week for Brian and I. It began with Monday being nice and relaxing with us getting to spend time together. Than we both have had classes like crazy and everything but looking back it's been an amazing week.
Monday: Spent some time with Brian's family and enjoyed a fun adventure trying to join them for an elk ride. We didn't make it but we got to spend time with them afterward as we had a huge party at Cristy's house.
Tuesday: Got my new phone from the UPS guy who passed our house the day before. Got some Jamba Juice and was able to get all the homework done for my classes on Monday next week.
Wednesday: Returned the phone I had loaned to T-mobile and got my money back. I also figured out what to get Jan for her bridal shower. Brian got an interview set up for two internships and got invited to join a club.
Thursday (today): Finished the rest of my homework for next week. Just a few little things to do to tie everything up and have it all turned in. Got to see Brian a couple times by just running into him. :) (this never happens to us) Also Brian had one interview today and starts his internship TONIGHT!!! He is helping with the marketing of the basketball games. He also went to the first meeting of the club he got invited to and it just opened some doors to him for more opportunities connected to what he wants to do with grad school. We find out about the next internship next Thursday.

Can you say AMAZING WEEK?? Yeah I can't believe what we have been able to do and what we have been blessed with. Now if I can just get my student teaching application finished. Then we could begin to start figuring out where life might be taking us......

I sure love how life can surprise you sometimes. Hope it keeps doing it for us (but only with good things).

Vaca and School

Brian and I took a vacation before school started again. We headed up to Jackson Hole with my sister Celest to visit her boyfriend John. It was so much fun and way pretty. Although it was cold we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed just relaxing.
We stayed at the Snow King which is right next to a ski resort there. Seriously where we parked you could of jumped out and you would be right on the bunny hill. It was fun to watch people ski since we didn't have the money to actually go and do it. Instead we did some other things.
The first night we went out to dinner at the Gun Barrel. We got the most interesting meal. We ordered the game combination plate which gave us some buffalo, elk, and venison. They were all really good.
Some of the people we went with were the people Celest worked with over the summer. They were really funny and we had a blast. Plus they ordered some of the most outrageous sized meat that I was able to get a picture of. I don't know how they ate that much meat but everyone who ordered it ate it all and then even ordered dessert. Although it was really good it was also pretty pricey so if you go up to Jackson Hole we recommend it but be ready to pay for it.
The next day Brian and I had the day to ourselves as Celest went out to work with John on the sleigh rides. So we just relaxed in the hotel for awhile by sleeping in and enjoying some cable. We then got ready and headed out to check out downtown Jackson. We went to Ripley's Believe it or Not!

I had never been before so it was really interesting especially the belt buckle collection. We weren't sure if we could take pictures or not of what we were looking at so we didn't but we found out some very interesting facts.
After Ripley's we just walked around the different shops and found the most amazing photographer. Brian and I were both in love with his pictures. Maybe one day we will be able to buy one of the pictures.
If anyone wants to see his work I will direct you to his shop or figure it out from online. It was then time for dinner so we decided to try Billy's Giant Burgers. I got the hamburger to try while Brian picked a turkey sandwich. They were both soooo good.
After dinner you have to have dessert so we headed to Brian's and my favorite ice cream place in Jackson Hole......Moo's!!! We got the huckleberry ice cream this time and it was just as good as the wild cherry we tried this summer. Then we headed back to the hotel, played in the game room and enjoyed the hot tub.
Friday was our last day in Jackson Hole. The only thing we haven't done at this point is go on the sleigh ride on the Elk Refuge to see the animals in nature. We headed over to the visitor's center to get our tickets and rode the bus up a ride early to hang out with John in the cabin up there. He then was our driver to head out to see the animals especially the elk.
The ride we went out on was when the sun came out which made it really bright. But we still had fun and got some decent pictures of us and the animals. The eagles were probably my favorite since they put on a little show for us with the way they flew around above our sleigh.
Saturday we came home since Brian had to work. We were all tired and ready to relax but we found out on the way home that my Grandpa was having a birthday party that night for his birthday. So Celest and I made plans to go down together. This made it so Brian and I had to rush our shopping and getting ready for the school week when we thought we'd have a lot of time to do it. Luckily we were able to get everything done and get down to the party early.
Now Brian and I have had a crazy week with school and realizing how fast our last year as college students is coming to an end. Plus we both have pretty intense classes and our schedules are pretty opposite again. Brian's schedule is just full of all his capstone classes for his major. He is a little nervous but they seem to be pretty good professors so hopefully he'll be fine.
My schedule is going to be intense as I have class all day Monday and Tuesday, half day Wednesday and then work just working it's way around it. Then my schedule switches to full time in the elementary school. Yeah 9 weeks in the classroom means homework full time and heavy. Then I have 5 weeks in the elementary schools.

This semester is going to fly since I am already down to only 8 weeks of course work now. Crazy!! If I don't post like I usually did (as in once a week) please understand why. I am trying my best to stay ahead of the homework and get my student teaching things in order. I don't have much time to do it all.

At least we get a break tomorrow!! and I have only one more little homework assignment left to do. :)

P.S. Little extra notes on the trip and why we went again.....

Brian and I just celebrated our 18 month mark of being married. Yeah another good reason to head up to Jackson Hole for a vacation. We hardly ever get to enjoy anniversary marks since we have gotten married so this was prefect for us.
Brian and I made some good friends with the owner's of this place. Which is why the picture below is there....
This is the wife of the guy who makes all the delicious stuff Brian and I enjoyed twice up there. The second time we got Mint chocolate chip ice cream. Really good. We just had to get one more picture by their sign. Anyone going up to Jackson Hole go to Moo's. It is amazing!!!

So I am behind in blogging and as the saying goes....a picture is worth a thousand words so that is how this post will be today. Just know we got spoiled with Christmas and have really enjoyed the break from school and work.
This was the view on the way out of the canyon Christmas Eve.

One last little note: I have my praxis exam tomorrow and need to pass it in order to do my student teaching in the Fall. Please pray for me. I have been studying and feel good about it but I really need to pass.
