Mount Evans and Fishing

The rest of the weekend we relaxed, tried fishing, and enjoyed a must see in Colorado. It was fun to get out and enjoy the beauty of Colorado.

We went to the park one night to cook our hamburgers and eat. So obviously we spent some time on the playground. We all had a lot of fun and enjoyed the night. It was fun to run around and laugh really hard. But we came super close to getting poured on since it did pour every night. Seriously, the wind gusted up, I said we need to go it is going to start to rain, we grabbed everyone, headed to our table, grabbed our stuff and all barely got into the cars before the rain came pouring down. Perfect way to end the night in the pouring rain.
First time fishing and using her barbie pole. She was a natural.

She was in love with her Spiderman fishing pole and kept saying let's go fishing.....pole. She was funny because she thought fishing was fishing pole and the words meant the same thing.

Enjoying the sun, wind, and nature at the lake.
After fishing we grabbed lunch, packed up, and drove to Mount Evans. It is a beautiful crazy drive but we all had a blast. I tried to take a few pictures of the drive and then gave up and just took pictures when we stopped.

Cheesy picture in the car.

That is Echo Lake behind us and we were just at it only about five miles before.

Trying to get a picture with everyone using the mono pod

Better one and we almost got a smile out of everyone.

Look closely behind me and what do you see??

Mountain goats!!!

George checking them out and them checking him out.

Got a picture closer up.

There was an animal on this rock and just as I got zoomed in and pressed the button it disappeared. It was a fast little guy.

The view from the very top of Mount Evans. You drive all but 1/4 mile to the top then you walk the rest up the super rocky mountain you saw in our mountain goat pictures.

At the top, 14,300 feet up!!!

Being daring and sitting on the edge of a rock over the edge of the cliff

Other direction, the little girls were scared to be away from the trail but they were still up at the very top!!

Back in the parking lot and found this cool sign saying how far up the parking lot is. The sign above states how high the summit actually is.

Everyone agreed that this was the best part of their trip and I know it is one place I won't forget. It was fantastic and absolutely beautiful!! After the great drive we went and found a great BBQ place and enjoyed some yummy dinner. The next day we headed to church and everyone started the long drive home. It was super fun having them all here and showing them the wonderful place we have come to love this summer.
Sadly we are down to one month and then we will be home and back to crazy real life. So we know we have to really enjoy the last few moments we have in the beautiful state of Colorado so we are going to be going to some more great places in the next few weekends.
